June-Fishing Trip

Hi1 Today was the day for our monthly
fishing trip, it was quite enjoyable, especially
the early part, up to about 10.30AM, the
wind started to pick up from then on, and
it become quite cold and a bit rough, making
it hard to concentrate on the fishing.
Overall I'm quite sotisfaid with my catch.
I was able to bring 12 fish
aboard, and they were
mainly GOOD fish.
Regular viewers would
recall that I'm not usually
very happy with the quality
of the catch that I usually
bring home.
And by the way...We did not
see any whales.
I'm including a couple of shots
that I took of today's catch.

I seemed to have spent quite
a considerable amount of time
untangling my fishing line,and
some of the others also, it's
not fun.

I fried some tonight and they were really nice, you cannot
beat fresh fish for taste!
Very big test coming up for the SOCCEROOS
May the best team (Australian) win

New Raffle Venue

It seems that if we do not have a good win
in the Friday night Raffle,we change Clubs
Tonight we decided to go to a different Club,
so we went to the Bass Hill RSL. We have
been members of both Bankstown and
Bass Hill RSL"they are joint Clubs" for a
number of years, but had until tonight not
gone to the Bass Hill venue.
We managed to win one tray of rump steak
and some sausages, the food was OK also,so
it was not a bad night at all.
Fishing outing this coming Sunday.
Next week both my wife"Eileen "( from Malta fame)
and I will be on "baby sitting duties".
I'm sorry to see that Italy and Australia
have to meet so soon, I would have liked both
to progress further, but as it is,it has to be that
I'll be going for AUSTRALIA!
Have a nice week end

AUSTRALIA'S DAY

Historic Day for Australia. Australia today joined the world of soccer nations.
Whatever happens from now on, Australia will still be a winner,
from being (I think) 42nd. in the world, Australia's position has now
jumped to "at least" 16th. place. Well done SOCCEROOS and good for the next round!
The whole of Australia is with you

WE NEED A MIRACLE

Miracles do happen, and in about six hours time, AUSTRALIA will be Praying for one.
The SOCCEROOS have come a long way, and with some LUCK we could see them getting favourable result in Munich. The Aussies believe in their ability, and having the will to WIN is also very important, the result of the Croatia-Japan match, is also very important for Australia.

Zero Winnings !

Last night, the gardener turned fisherman and wife Eileen, both won zero prizes. I went to the Dooleys Club on my own, as I had to attend the "Fishing Club"AGM, a very informal meeting, that
was attended by only 5 members, and 1 new recruit, 2 others rang to offer their apologies for not being able to attend. At least most turn up on FISHING day. And back to the Raffle, I did not win a prize, I then rang Eileen to see if she had had better luck at the RSL Club,
she went there with some friends, (on the last 2 Fridays that we attended the RSL, we had won 2 prizes on each occasions) but not this time, but there is always next time.
We'll be missing out next Friday,as we will be on "Baby sitting duties"

Apologies for not being able to post some fishing or raffle winning prizes, but I have two more photos from yesterday's anniversary blog.
Hope one of us was a good catch.

Back again next week

Wedding Anniversary

My wife and I celebrated our 37th. wedding anniversary at the Mountain Heritage in the Blue Mountains. Both my wife and I were very happy with the service and also with the Resort itself. At dinner on the 15th. (our anniversary date) we received a complimentary bottle of "Mountain Heritage" wine, plus some nice strawberries dipped in chocolates, gesture was well appreciated. We intend to return there sometime in the future for a short stay.

Here are some views from the Sublime Point lookout.

Family BBQ

Today was Adrian's birthday and we had a family BBQ, and today being the Queen's Birthday Holiday, all the family members were able to turn up, everybody seem to have enjoyed the food,(I cooked the meat) so I know that it was good.

We had salads, drinks, nice weather, very nice in the sun and no wind, (we moved inside when the started going down)
it was a nice day all round, not forgetting the "Birthday Cake"
baked by Audrey, I think there could be one or two pieces left.
As usual we had a lot of food left over, (we won't have to cook
for the next day or two) By the way, all the meat came, compliments of the Club Raffle wins.
PS Tonight Australia plays Japan in the World Cup,
With any luck Australia should came away with the 3 points!
WE'LL KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED

Small but consistent

This evening, my wife and I we again went to the RSL Club for their Raffle, (we won two prizes last week) so we thought it was a good idea to follow the winning venue, but next week we'll be going back to Dooley's, as I'll be attending the Fishing Club general meeting, after the Raffle. Going to the RSL this evening was a good idea, as we won two prizes again. This time it was a
tray of "Chicken" One whole roasting chicken, 6-chicken thighs, and 6-chicken drumsticks and a second prize mixed fruits, and one bottle of orange juice. Looks like my wife is getting hooked on the Raffle, she certainly likes posing for the photos.
Simon and Audrey, best wishes for your Anniversary. ......Ours is coming up soon!
Mary, Happy birthday, enjoy your day.
Happy Birthday Adrian for the 12th. We'll have a BBQ. Hope it won't rain.

Change of Venue

I like going to DOOLEY's for the Raffle on Friday nights, but as the saying goes "A change is as good as an holiday" This evening together with my wife... she is back after her extended holiday overseas.....remember the posting about "Queen Eileen of Malta"? As I was saying, tonight we went to a different Club, the Lidcombe RSL as we were to meet some friends there, but as it turned out they could not make it, but we stayed on and purchased two raffle tickets (A$11.00), and for that we got 60 numbers, but being a much smaller club and with less tickets sold, one still as a fairly good chance of winning a prize. As it was, we won two prizes It could have been "Beginners luck", but a prize is a prize by any name.
Here you see the good Lady holding the goodies. She seems quite pleased with the prizes. By the way some RAIN is finally falling on BERALA PATCH, so the plants in the garden is will also be HAPPY
