Here we are back home from a nice break in Phuket, the weather was not always the way
we would have liked it to be, but never the less it was good enough for us to go to few places and for the better half to help the local economy " the store owners in Malta woul know what that means"
I did not take as many photos as I had intended to, but I still have a few, and I'll
try and include some of them in this Blog and future ones also.
A small Resort, but quite nice, right on the beach on the North side of Patong, the beach in front of the resort is very popular with board riders.
On one tour to the "James Bond" Island, the weather was not kind to us, and we spent most of the trip on one of the "long tail" boats under rain coats, so we did not see much of the scenic Islands and coastline, but the lunch at the "floating village" was very good.
I'll try and put a few more things together next week.

The Gardener Goes Flying

Tomorrow, the 13th.the Gardener, together with Mrs. Gardener (she only likes to pick the flowers) will be leaving to go to Thailand "Phuket" for a few days, for the occasion of our wedding anniversary...38th.
Should be a good break away from the "Berala Patch", but not for too long,I'm sure that the garden would miss me, and then we now have "Sophira" the cat that has adopted us, and definitely she will miss the attention that she has now become accustomed to receive.
But I'll be taking the opportunity to take a few photos and maybe some videos of the area around Phuket, and other places that we'll be visiting! Meanwhile, the garden should be quite OK, after all the rain that we had during the past week.

Happy Blogging ! And looking forward to bring some photos to share with you.

See you back soon

A Good Day To Stay Indoors

Winter arrived in Sydney, and the coast north of Sydney today. Just off Newcastle, at least 3 ships were pushed on to or close to shore, the crew was evaquated from one ship that is stranded on a reef, or sand bar, and the large waves are breaking over part of the ship, most of the other large bulk ore carriers that were waiting at anchor, waiting for their turn to take coal onboard, were able to move offshore and away from the danger of being driven ashore.
No Raffle wins tonight, I decided to stay indoors, rather than go the the Club, the prizes can wait until we get back from holidays
In the Sydney metropolitan area, we had very strong cold winds, and lots of rain.
The best place was indoors, I had to move some of the plants (in pots) into sheltered areas, we have been rather lucky, as we haven't had any damaged caused by the storms and also have not had any loss of electricity , unlike other areas that have had black-outs, mainly caused by falling trees, bringing down power lines.
Anyhow together with my wife Eileen, we will be off to Phuket in a few more days, and I think the weather there will be much warmer!
After todays rain, and there is more forecast, the plants in the garden, should be quite OK until we get back, just in time to pick some lettuce.
By the way our "homeless cat Sophira" hasn't left her bed, apart from when she wanted some
food. She maybe lazy, but she isn't stupid!
I think the excavations for our new shopping centre, will resemble a giant swimming pool after the rain thar we are getting.
Hope you are all having nice weather.
I'm not complaining, we needed the rain! It will be good for the garden.
