A Win at Dooley's

Tonight I had one of those rare wins, that were quite common in the past. It was just a tray of Pork, and two apples! But it looked quite nice, my better half has to decide as to what to do with... how to cook it, I have never been a fan of Pork, but lots of people like it!

So this is what it looks like

Quite nice looking!
On the back of a reasonable good day fishing, last Sunday, it could be just the beginning of a revival in my Raffle fortunes.
Back again next week.

A Successful Fishing Day

MAY FISHING DAY

At long last, I was able to go out for our monthly fishing trip, that for one reason or another, has not happened for about 4 months! I had a fairly fruitful day, I caught 12 fish in all, the weather was very good, sunny for most of the day, and hot enough for some of the crew to shed their jackets.
A seal seemed to follow us for a good part of the day, and it decided at one stage that it liked one of the fish caught by our past president, Adam, one fish that according to him, was very big and had a very good colour, the SEAL thought that it was very good also, and to show how much, kept on trowing it in the air and catching it again, may be so Adam could see what colour it was. Cannot wait for the next outing Now I'll have a few more days to spend in the garden

See everyone again soon

FISHING to Catch a BIG ONE

Tomorrow morning, we are going to our much delayed fishing trip. During our recent trip to Adelaide, I picked up a leaflet about the legal size and number of fish that can be taken! I won't have any problems on that score! I'll take the leaflet with me, just in case any of the South Australian fish decide to swim North and come our way.

It should be a nice day on the water, whatever the catch.
I'll let you all know the outcome, but I'm hoping to at least have something to bring home.
Cheers

Touring in the S.A. Wine Regions

Mr and Mrs Gardener in the wine region of South Australia

With some very old vines---we were told, over 100 years old!
"Tasting" Two glasses at a time.....so she can tell the difference!
Enough to last a little while

New barrels, not sure if they were full

It was a very enjoyable trip to the Adelaide wine region. Next Sunday, May 25th. is again the day for our fishing outing, but I'll only be sure after it happens, if we do go, it will be after 5 months that the trip has been cancelled, so I'm hoping that this time it will in fact eventuate!!
See you all again soon

Adelaide Trip

Back home after spending six days in and around Adelaide, a very enjoyable break, we stayed at the Chifley on South Terrace, not far from the City, and with the FREE tram service fairly handy, it was easy to get around, when we were not touring.
Adelaide seems to have been able to conserve a lot of the "Older" buildings, that have a character of their own. We visited a few of the vine growing areas, and sampled a few of the local wines. I will include a few of the buildings that I photographed.

Visiting the Barossa Valley

After one week of inactivity, tomorrow morning, my wife and I are going by plane to the capital of South Australia, Adelaide, for one week, we will be touring around the city, and will also be visiting the wine producing areas in the Barossa Valley, and we might be bringing some back with us, or sending some back.
I'll be taking my trusty camera with me, so I should be able to bring some photos back. I am sure the garden can do without my attention for a few days.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY for all the MOTHERS on May 11
