A Fishing day that is better forgotten

The Dooleys Fishing Club outing today, would have been better if it had not taken place, for me at least. It all started to go wrong, when I left the interior lights in the car switched on last night.

I went to bed at around 10.00 pm, only to be awaken at 12.10 am, when my next door neighbor phoned, to alert me to the fact that the lights were on in the car, so after going and switching the lights off, I tried to go back to sleep, but only managed about 30 minutes of sleep, when the alarm went off, to let me know that it was time to get up!

Upon arriving in Wollongong, we realised that the wind was pretty strong, and there was the chance that we would not be going out to fish, when the Skipper arrived, he also said that he would take us out, but would have to stay fairly close to the shore, because of the strong winds, but after further discussion, it was decided that we would go out, and try our luck!

Whilst a couple of members, did have a fairly good day, I certainly did not, I caught four (4) fish, and they were not the type of fish that I prefer, the wind was strong, and rather cold, so at least that is my excuse for doing so badly.
The next outing will be on the 27th of July,I'll be wishing for better luck then.
I took a couple of photos of some of the fishing club members, to be used in the "Dooleys" Club magazine, .....no I'm not in them.

I would have liked to have news of a good catch, but things don't always go the way we would like, so we have to accept things the way they are!

Back Home from Coffs Harbour

After a few days visiting friends in Coffs Harbour (in NSW mid-North Coast) we are now back home, and back to NOT winning at Raffle, but on Sunday next, all going well, we should be going FISHING again, lets hope that the trip is not cancelled, due to "Bad" weather!

The lawn needs cutting, so that could be one of the jobs tomorrow, (weather permitting).

In Coffs Harbour, my wife and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary, (June 15th.) at a nice German restaurant, with a couple of friends...nice food and nice company.

We also visited the quite town of Bellingen with its many "Cafes" and "Market" type shops.

Last Saturday, some of Berala Residents held a meeting in a local Church hall, to vent their anger at the long delay in the building of the proposed "NEW" Berala shopping centre, so far only, what it appears to be the bottom floor of the car park, has been built, and some of the foundations for the "Piers" have been started!

Some of those present spoke about the lack of any kind of communication from the contractor, as to what is happening to the project, and as to the damage, the lack of a Shopping Centre, is causing the community, and specially the elderly, that have to catch public transport, to other areas, to do their shopping.

Some of the locals present at the meeting

We are all awaiting for some kind of response, either from the Contractor, or the local Council.

Meanwhile we do our shopping at other shopping centres, as most of our rquirements are not available locally!
