New Rod & Reel
They say that a change is as good as an holiday!
Last week I went fishing from Cronulla, with the Chester Hill RSL Fishing Club, and had some success, catching 7 fish, but mainly Lether jackets, not a bad fish to eat, but they make one pay dearly, as more times than not, cut the line with their sharp teeth, and one then has to put new hooks on, a real waste of time!
Have not had any luck at the Raffle, so I have refrained from mentioned it, if my luck does one day change, I will certainly let everybody know!
Yesterday ( Sunday ) I went fishing with the Dooley Club, we went to Wollongong as usual, the
weather was a bit windy to start with, and that made the conditions not so pleasant, then improved for around two hours, when the wind again changed direction, and started to increase, and on our way back, most of us got fairly WET (me especially) with the spray and some small waves coming in! But it was only sea water!
The new reel and rod probably made a difference, as I had a decent catch, and apart from loosing a few rigs, was quite happy with the result, I also was using braid instead of nylon, it
tends not to stretch, as much as nylon does, thus making it easier to know when a fish is taking the bait.
The Catch
It included 1- small snapper, 2- Flatheads, 2 -Pikes, and a few more odd fish.
The author of the Castlepatch blog should be leaving London this evening, and arriving back home on Wednesday morning!
Welcome back
