NO MORE RAFFLE WINS...at DOOLEYS

IS IT TIME TO GIVE UP ?

Sometimes it seems that I should give up trying to win any further Raffles at Dooleys, it has been quite a while since I won anything at Dooleys,,,,,,well it seems like a long time, but I should not be complaining, as I have had a few wins at the Chester Hill RSL club, and last Thursday night, I was coerced into going around the Club, carrying a MEAT tray, whilst the 2 other members of the Fishing Club, sold the tickets, all went well, they sold quite a few tickets, and to make it even better, I won second prize. Maybe I should stick to that Club, as one of our freezer broke down, and we to throw a few things out, my wife has told me not to win any more meat trays, as we now don't have any spare space in the freezer! I hope that does not include catching fish, as next Sunday week we are going fishing off Wollongong, with the Dooleys Fishing Club, and 2 weeks later I'll be going fishing for 5 days to South West Rocks, with the Chester Hill RSL Club, and they are all telling me that it is there that one catches "REAL" fish! We'll just have to wait and see, fishermen are known to exaggerate when talking about the catch.

Today I sowed some peas "telephone", and in the next few days, I'll be putting in some normal peas, so we should have some peas to pick later on!

This could the last fig of the season,
It is from a new tree, so it looks like it should be a good bearer next year.
Have a nice week!

ON SYDNEY HARBOUR

Lunch on the Harbour

Yesterday Eileen and I, and our friend Anne, visiting Sydney from Malta, spent a few hours on Sydney Harbour, had lunch on one of the Captain Cook's boats, a very pleasant few hours on the water.
One of the many boats, catering for tourist and locals alike on the harbor

Portuguese Festival Sydney

Portugese Food and Dances, at the Portuguese Festival

This afternoon, my wife and I went to the Sydney suburb of Petersham, where most of the Portuguese Restaurants and Eating Houses are to be found.

Today they were holding a "Street Festival", where all kind of Portuguese foods were on sale, they also had singing and dancing, a very happy and festive atmosphere.
