ANZAC day in Sydney

Here you have "Mrs. Gardener" enjoying watching the Anzac March, and waving the Maltese Flag, and note the "Commando" emblem on the lapel.
A proud mass display of Australian Flags

Proud "Digger" with hard earned MEDALS, proof of acts of heroism in the theater of war.

ANZAC Day is the one day of the year, when all Australians come together, to commemorate and remember all those that went to war and gave their life for the Country. Australia is a young country and its population is made up of people from many countries, backgrounds, colour and religions, but now moulded into one Country. AUSTRALIA, and we all proudly look back to what those early Diggers did, to make Australia what it is today!

Chokos, Meat and Fish

During the past week, together with my wife, we have tried some different ways to cook and use an abundant supply of Chokos that our vine is producing. Chokos are very versatile,so far we have Baked them made Soups with and this evening,I had a plate of chokes, that had been boiled, cut in small pieces and had some butter added, I then placed them in a frying pan, added one beaten egg and stirred them together with a tablespoonful of grated cheese, the result was a very tasty dish.
On Friday I again went to "Dooleys" for the Friday night Raffle.(I did not go last week)and after a very long time, I did win a tray of meat!A nice change ....for the better, I hope!
This morning(Sunday)I went out with the Dooley Fishing Club, and after not have been able to go out, for the past 2 months, due to the weather, this time we made it.The conditions were very good, but I don't think that the Fish were told that we needed their cooperation, but I ended up with 4 fish, (1) for the cat, so 3 nice fish will make it to the table tomorrow.

In the Garden, I have quite a few things growing, lettuce, spinach, a row of cauliflowers
and some Chinese vegetables, all in all I'm keeping myself busy.
Hope to be back next week!

Day out with the Bowlers Club

Today was spent on a very pleasant trip to the "Highlands"
We left Dooleys Club at around 8.45am in a 24 seater bus, after a nice drive south, we reached
the small town of Bundanoon, where we located the local Bowling Club, and after familiarasing ourselves with the club layout and having a look at the bowling greens, had morning "tea", then we went to the local "Markets", where some of the ladies decided to help the local economy,by buying some "nick necks", including my wife.I will include a photo of her doing some purchases.
We were then driven back to the Bowling Club, where we had lunch served, and afterwards, some decided to have a game of bowls, and the ones of us that knew nothing about bowling
( including your truly) were taken on a short sight-seeing tour of the town, with one of the locals pointing out all the places of interest around the township.
It was a nice day out,and we returned back to our own Club at around 6.00pm.
