TWO MEAT TRAYS

The pets of the GARDENER's household

Tonight Dooleys Raffle allowed me to win 2 meat trays, that I promptly put into the freezer, as we are going away on Sunday morning, and won't be cooking any meat tomorrow, part of the day will be taken up with making sure that we will pack everything that we intend to take with us.Also will be making sure that all the plants are watered, especially the ones in pots.
There wasn't too much space in the freezer, but I managed to find just enough to fit the meat in...without the carboard trays!

We are looking forward a nice relaxing few days in Bali (First time there).

When we get back, I can then concentrate on the garden!

I'm also hoping to bring back quite a few photos from there

Bye for now

Sunday Fishing and Sardinian Picnic

Sunday was a very nice day out on the water, very flat seas, and very warm. The fishing was not too good, I managed to bring in 9 fish, but overall, it was not a very good catch day.
One of our members, was unlucky, in so far that he accidentally had a hook stuck in one of his fingers, had to call in at a medical clinic, to have it removed, hope it wasn't too painful.
Tonight in Sydney we had a total eclipse of the moon, the moon slowly darkened, as the earth shadow moved over it
The Sardinian Association held their "Picnic" day at the Auburn Botanical Gardens, I could not go, but my wife went and she really enjoyed the outing, where she met up with old friends again
We are now almost ready for our trip to Bali, on Sunday morning.
Hope to have lots of photos to share with you on our return.

Sirloin Steaks & Sausages

Tonight Dooley's Raffle allowed me to take a prize home,it has been such a long time, that any prize would have been welcomed, as it turn out, I won a tray of Sausages and few Sirloin Steaks.

When I returned home, as I usually do, I checked out the fish in the aquarium, and discovered that one of the fish had given birth, I was able to count four baby fish (fry), but I am not sure if I should now separate the mother, as I was told that sometimes she eats the babies! I had previously separated the mother from the other fish, I think I'll wait and see what happens, the "babies" seem to be coping quite well at the moment.

This Sunday I'll be going for our monthly fishing trip, and with the weather people forecastinggood weather and an increase in temperature, we are all hoping for a nice day out.

Until next week

Have a good weekend

Looking Forward to Fathers Day

Fathers Day is something to look forward to, after all it is the beginning of Spring! The day after, but thats closer enough , and the day after Fathers Day, it is "Queen Eileen's birthday,so we are going on an Holiday to Bali, what better excuse to get some photos for my "Blog".
Tonights raffle didn't bring any winners for me ...again, but there is next time as always, and also on Sunday the 22nd we are going on our monthly fishing day, and that could bring some joy, or as it is more likely another lean catch, we'll just have to wait and see.
If I can catch at least one fish, I won't be too disappointed.
Besides our Siamese Cat"Sophira", we now also have 2 canaries, "Benjamin & Justin" they are both male, as you can tell by their names, next week I'll try and have a short movie of them, or may be a couple of pictures to put up on the Blog. I must not forget the gold fish and their little friends.
I have put in some seeds in trays, away from the cooler temperatures that have returned during the last week, they should all be up during the next week or so, and should be ready to be planted out by the time the weather warms up again.
See you all again next week
Cheers

BACK AFTER A LONGISH BREAK

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTrUCCehjfo

It has been a number of weeks since the last BLOG, I was waiting for some good news to share with you, may be some wins in the Raffle, but nothing good on that score!
The weekend before last, my wife and I went to Nelsons Bay to visit some of our friends there, it was a good short break, and this time we went by train to Newcastle, and our friends picked us up from there.
Tried some fishing with Salvatore, but we could only catch some "baby" fish, that we let go (to grow and possibly get caught again at some later time) WISTFUL thinking
Still have a few cauliflowers in the garden, some lettuce (not quite ready) some broadbeans
and some peas, just setting the first pods, so the garden is not conpletely bare
I also have just put some tomato seed in (trays), the soil is not warm enough yet to saw direct in the garden!
The weather is warming up quite nicely, and it is time to get the soil ready plant things out in a few weeks time.
We may just have enough time to go on another short holiday, before it is time to get to work in the garden, and also get ready to start mowing the grass. ( we feed the lawn to make the grass grow, and complain when it grows too quickly and we have to mow it! We are never happy.

Have a nice week
