Baked Chokos--Recipe
You'll need 6-7 Chokos, 1 Egg, 2 Onions,Around 300 grams of lean Mince Meat, 1 cup grated Cheese, Celery, Basil, Parsley, Salt, Pepper, Oil.
(I found out that it is better to use young Chokos, peeled and boiled for about 10 minutes.)
Cut Chokos in half, remove seed and also scoop out some of the "flesh" from around the seed, to make room for the filling!
Peel and cut Onions finely, place them in a frying pan with some oil, cook the onions until they change colour, then remove from fire, and put in a container.
Add more oil to the frying pan, add mince meat and cook for around 10-15 minutes, then add the onions previously cooked, also the chillies, celery finely chopped, parsley, cook for a further 10 minutes, then remove from the fire and let cool in a bowl, when the mixture has cooled, add the egg, cheese, salt and pepper, and mix it all together.
Then place the meat mixture in the two half's of the chokes, and re- join them. To make sure they don't come apart, use two tooth picks, to hold them together.( the tooth picks are easily removed afterwards)
Place the chokes with the filling in an oven-proof dish, put a little oil on top of the chokes and place in the oven (on 180 fan forced) cook for around 45 minutes, or until they are cooked.
I tried baking them with the skin on, but unless they are very young, the skin tends to become too hard when cooked in the oven.
Enjoy them
